  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of chopped methi leaves

How to prepare methi malai paneer recipe?

  • To start with methi malai paneer recipe you need to take a frying pan and place it on the stove. After that, you need to put 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and leave it for a few minutes on the flame.
  • Once the oil is heated up, you need to add ½ teaspoon of cumin seeds and let it fry for a few seconds.
  • After that, you need to add 1.5 cups chopped onions to it and let it fry until the onion turns brown. While frying, you need to give a frequent stir.
  • Once the onion turns brown you need to add 2 tablespoons of chopped ginger followed by 1 teaspoon of chopped garlic, and 1 teaspoon of chopped green chillies. You need to stir fry all these.
  • Once the ingredients start releasing their aroma, you need to add a handful of chopped cashews in it and give it a nice stir.
  • After that, you need to add ¼ cup of chopped tomatoes and sauté it until the tomatoes soften. While doing so, you need to stir all the ingredients in the pan.

  • Once the onion-tomato mixture cools down, you need to transfer them into a grinder jar and make a paste out of it. While making the paste for methi malai paneer recipe, you can add ⅓ cup of water to the mixture to make it smooth and set it aside.
  • Now coming to the second phase of methi malai paneer recipe, in the same pan you need to add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and let it heat up a little.
  • Then you need to add 1 cup of finely chopped methi or fenugreek leaves which is one of the main ingredients of methi malai paneer recipe and stir fry the leaves in medium flame.

  • After that, you need to add the paste of onion-tomato and stir well and leave it on the flame for 7 to 8 minutes. You need to give it a stir frequently so that the paste does not stick to the pan.
  • When the paste starts releasing oil, you need to add 1 cup of water and add salt to taste. You need to stir the broth so that everything is properly mixed.
  • On a medium flame, you need to leave the mixture to boil and then add ¼ cup of cream which was whipped previously. You need to stir the broth so that the cream mixes up well.
  • After that, you need to add ½ teaspoon of garam masala powder and ½ teaspoon of sugar and give it a nice stir to the gravy.
  • Finally, the time comes when you have to add the paneer cubes into the gravy and leave it for 1 to 2 minutes until the cubes are entirely cooked.
  • Once paneer cubes are cooked, you can turn the gas off and serve it with chapattis or naan.
