  • Groundnut or peanuts: ¾ cup
  • Oil: 2 tsp
  • Urad Dal: 1 tsp
  • Chana Dal: 1 tsp

  • Tamarind: Small piece
  • Salt to taste
  • Water: ½ cup or as per requirement

  • Oil: 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds: 1 tsp
  • Urad Dal: 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida or Hing: A pinch
  • Red chilli: 1 dried and broken
  • Curry Leaves: Few

Instructions to prepare the peanut chutney recipe

Here are the essential steps to follow to prepare the chutney for the first time:

  • Dry roast the peanuts on a medium flame. Make sure to roast the peanuts till they get separated from the skin.
  • Allow the peanuts to cool down and get rid of the skin thoroughly.
  • Once done, make sure to transfer these peanuts into your blender.
  • Heat a pan and add some oil, urad dal, and chana dal.
  • Along with these, roast green chilli and two cloves of garlic until the blisters start to appear.
  • Once all these ingredients are appropriately roasted, transfer them into the blender as well.
  • Add some tamarind and salt to taste.
  • Blend the entire mixture till you get the desired consistency. In case you want to dilute it a little bit, make sure to add an appropriate amount of water.

Once these are done, you need to prepare for tampering. Heat two tsp of oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, hing, urad dal, dried red chillies, and a few curry leaves.
