Murmura laddoo

This is one of the easiest recipes with puffed rice that you could make. It is super healthy, absolutely delicious, and a snack that you can carry on the go!

  1. Take 250 grams of puffed rice or mamra, 750 grams of jaggery and three and a half cups of water.
  2. First, heat the water and jaggery in a pan and stir continuously until a thin consistency is reached.
  3. Add the mamra and quickly mix in. Remove the mixture and allow it to cool for a while.
  4. Scoop up this mixture in your hand and mould them into round balls. Allow them to cool and then serve or pack them to eat later.

 

Puffed rice upma or uggani

If you are looking for a quick fix for breakfast, this uggani dish is one of the best recipes with puffed rice that you can use. All of the ingredients you need to prepare this are very easily found in your kitchen, making this recipe the perfect go-to for busy mornings or evenings!

  1. Take one chopped onion, tomato, four green chillies, coriander leaves, four tablespoons of gram dal, and four cups of mamra.
  2. First, take a kadai and add two tbsp of oil. To this, add mustard seeds, white urad dal, gram dal, and two tbsp of peanuts.
  3. After about a minute, add the chopped onions and a little bit of turmeric and sauté well.
  4. Add tomatoes and salt and fry until the tomatoes turn mushy.
  5. Put the puffed rice in a bowl of water and drain the water out immediately. Add this rice to the mixture in the kadai and mix well.
  6. Add the chopped coriander leaves and lemon to this upma and stir for 2-3 minutes and serve hot.

 

Vagharela mamra

  1. Add two tbsp of oil, and heat in a kadai.
  2. To this hot oil, add mustard seeds, turmeric powder, and hing.
  3. Add the puffed rice, salt, red chilli powder and some powdered sugar (optional).
  4. Mix well and serve hot. You can also make a large amount of this and store in an airtight container to eat later. Make sure not to let any moisture in as this can make the puffed rice soggy.
